This unique Drivable aRt Car is based on the iconic Mercedes-Benz 190 2.5D and has been entirely hand-painted by artist Frans Vogels. The car became a central highlight within the story of LEGENDS, representing a remarkable fusion of automotive heritage and contemporary art. The artwork was created using multiple layers of acrylic paint, after which the entire bodywork was finished with three layers of high-grade yacht varnish. This provides both a deep gloss and vibrant colours, while ensuring long-lasting protection. A thoughtful detail: the windows and headlights were first covered with protective decals before the painting process. As a result, the car can – if desired – be relatively easily returned to its original condition and used on the road again.
